I went to see the dental hygienist today.
Hate going to the dentist really - especially to get the cleanings.
They suck.
So she sees me in all my (I’m not going to put makeup today except for sunscreen, powder and fill in the brows) Groucho Marx (mental note, tone down the eyebrows next time) glory, donned in a t-shirt (baggy), overly tight size 16’s with my hair in a ponytail.
‘My gums are bleeding again. I guess my hygiene is off.’
‘Are you depressed,’ she asks as she leads me to the chair and bibs me down.
‘Well not any more than usual’ I respond automatically.
Crap.
*chewing inside of cheek*

a pair of my
dirty
drawers.
One time I went to get my hair done and the entire staff of the salon felt so sorry for me I got a free arm/hand massage, a free scalp massage and a free makeup consultation. I wish I could say it made me feel better but it didn’t…lol. Who does their makeup to get a haircut on a Sat morning? At the end of it the stylist was so happy, she said something like, “You know, when you came in I just thought, I HAVE to help this woman.”
Yeah, boost my self-esteem.
No dirties are airing. You didn’t say anything wrong. It’s how you felt. You can’t always been a breath of fresh air. Shit. Even angels fly too close to the ground and scrape their wings once in awhile. I am sorry you have been depressed. I guess that’s why we all have each other on here to commiserate with.
Teeth cleaning sucks! I had mine done a couple of months ago. And I go ugly too. You at least put some makeup on.

I don’t dress up for a doctor’s (or dentist’s) appointment, either. Considering how much they charge, I figure they ought to do SOMETHING (like tolerate me looking like a bag lady)to earn their money. Well, that goes for hairdressers, too. Now if THEY were paying ME, I’d put a little effort into looking decent. You did the right thing. I AM sorry that you’re feelng down, though. Sending mega-hugs,
