lazy lazy lazy

It’s been a downright unproductive day.

I’ve been poppin’ some Motrin and being extremely lazy.

I’m relieved that the evacuations are happening now instead of waiting for another disaster. But honestly, haven’t the residents of New Orleans been through enough? I just visited the beautiful city in May and it pains me to think that it’ll be subjected to destruction again.

I spent the last 45 minutes looking at luxury homes online. SF gate’s home section has it - it’s called VIEWS - Multi million dollar homes. Now last time, I grabbed one of the free magazines at a ritzy grocery store in Marin - so I was surprised to see it online. It sits in my car and I look at it any chance I get - it’s all dog eared from fantasies unfulfilled. While online, I looked longingly at 64 pages of gazillion dollar homes. I also read about Ms. Olivia Hsu Decker and found it pretty extraordinary how much money she’s made selling ritzy real estate. Interesting stuff. A view is a magnificent thing.

I also saw the author Amy Tam’s Sausalito writer’s cottage on sale for a cool 1.5 million. It was nice - then I thought to myself : there’s money in writing too.

Oh well.

Enough of lifestyles of the rich and famous….

It’s like a sophisticated version of MTV cribs - drooling over someone else’s good fortune.

I know I gotta call Moms - but I think I’ll wait until tomorrow night.

I actually need to get productive and do laundry/clean out my car/pick up around here before this weekend is over. I’ve already spent an entire day doing absolutely NOTHING.

Yikes, how time flies.

Took a minute to get finances in order though - realized that I hadn’t stopped the automatic withdrawl from my account for a credit card I transfered balances away from and they just got another chunk of my money. You know they don’t send that back unless you cancel that card. So I will do that on Tuesday.

The thought of driving again kinda spooks me. I was getting a bit nervous again while driving yesterday and I was driving super conservatively.

Oh well.

Guess I’ll lounge around some more and hit the hay early in hopes that I’ll get up early motivated to do the ‘right thing’.

Sometimes you NEED an absolutely useless day. It IS a holiday weekend, after all. Guess I’ll wind up doing some more cleaning and purgeing. Don’t feel bad for me though. I wouldn’t have to do it this weekend if I hadn’t spent so many other weekends do absolutely nothing!

How’s the realtor working out?

I agree with Patty, sometimes those useless days are really needed. Annie, if I were anywhere near you, I’d give you such a hug, you maybe wouldn’t appreciate it. In the old days, that’s what you got from family; well meaning hugs that maybe stifled you and hurt your bones. I feel like such an old fashioned person, though….if you want it, doll, I have plenty to give.
No, wait. That is not a hug! Here: {{{{{{{{{{ }}}}}}}}}}}}. For you, love, from me.
