where no non-trekkie has gone before

Today was decent.  I ate too much at the chinese buffet, but it was mostly broccoli (seriously).  Noah and I went and photographed one of our clients offices for her site and we worked.  I didn’t exercise today- I overslept my damn alarm and was going all day long.  Extra hard workout tomorrow.  I saw the new Star Trek tonight (though I have, literally, never seen an episode of the show or one of the movies); it is actually quite incredible and a whole lot of fun.  And one thing I do know for sure: Zachary Quinto is a stone cold fox even with the Spock ears.

Breakfast: no

Lunch: chinese buffet, yecccchh (but not as bad as it could have been)

Dinner: Sandwich with about 1.5 ounces brie, 2 slices wheat bread, sliced chicken, spinach, 4 pieces dried mango

Song of the Day: I’m On Fire, by Bruce Springsteen

Daily awesome:  Television Without Pity’s incredible glossary of all the terms coined so far by the utterly phenomenal, new best-and-smartest-comedy-on-tv (RIP Arrested Development), 30 Rock.  Enjoy!

Pretty good day

I am skipping class tonight, for no particular reason.  I just need a break from my own schedule.  To make up for this truancy, I’m working on homework and writing projects.  Noah and I worked today, ate sushi for lunch, watched a movie.  I’m still feeling a deep emotional malaise, but I’m trying to move through it.  At least I exercised today.

Breakfast: no

Lunch: sushi restaurant. 1\2 dragon roll, 1\2 order teriyaki chicken, small salad. 1 tempura prawn

Dinner: salad with tempeh, mixed greens, tomatoes, olives, red cabbage, sprouts, carrots, feta, balsamic vinaigrette

Snack: 20 tortilla chips

Exercise: 3 miles with dogs, 30 day shred, levels 1 and 2, 30 minutes stationary bike (8 miles)

1000 miles in 2009: 363.5

Song of the day: Another Lonely Day, by Ben Harper

Daily awesome: Neato place to by cool stuff from the Olympia area: buyoly.com.

tired, so tired

I felt completely exhausted today.  I literally could barely get out of bed; I didn’t work out or even walk the dogs.  I’m quitting smoking again, after taking it back up, so my grumpy\laziness is somewhat to be expected.  I have a busy day tomorrow, with class and everything, and I already have my alarm set for 7 am, so I can do a couple hard hours of exercise before I get going with my routine.

This weekend was good- nice to spend some low-stress time with my mother, very sad and very intense to see my sick (terminal bladder\liver cancer) uncle.  I didn’t have very much quality time to myself to get some work done and really make some headway on the writing projects I have going, but I’ll be doing that later this weekend.  The Wolverine midnight show was, of course, awesome- I’m an easily pleased girl when it comes to comic book movies and The X Men were my favorite when I was a little kid (a love I passed along to my kid brother, as well).  Also, for me and the many other female FNL fans that tittered in the audience at the simple mention of his name, tres exciting to see our little Timmy Riggins on the big screen (reeowwr!); here’s hoping he has his own movie spinoff coming up very, very soon.  I have many criticisms of the film, but it marks the beginning of summer movie season (when I generally see one ridiculous blockbuster per week until September- hey, I don’t get drunk anymore, so it’s a nice chaste way to have built-in entertainment in my week and I have a very reliable movie buddy), which means I’ll have to suspend the more critical side of my movie-going routine, as the absurd summer movies are not exactly stimulating for the mind or anything other than the adrenal glands.  But, love it, anyway!

Breakfast: 1 cup yogurt, 1 mango

Lunch: sandwich with 2 slices wheat bread, 3 slices barbeque pork, horseradish mustard

Dinner: 2 eggs, 1 cup spinach, 1 slice sharp cheddar, 1 slice wheat bread

Exercise: no. . .

1000 miles in 2009: 352.5 (did lots of walking and stationary bike this weekend)

Song of the Day:  Three Days, by Lucinda Williams

Daily awesome: dog video!!!  A technique I  plan on using when I need to take my own great dane down a peg or two, though she’s more of a class-clown-type anyways, not super-dignified.

no internet

My internet has been out for several days and I just got back from a weekend in Seattle with my mom.  Things have been good, food-wise, until today, when I ate all manner of depressing stuff.  I’m really struggling these days.  I’ll return to my normal posting habits tomorrow, now that Comcast has (FINALLY) straightened the problem out for good.
