So yeah, it that TOM and I got some fillings done and a veneer put on today and so went straight home and had the afternoon off because of my wonderful numb jaw. Anyway, so I got home and started working on Capstone (final essay exam to receive my Masters) and fell asleep. I’m always so tired, nauseus, and headachy the first day. Anyway, so why didn’t I pick up some Midol? Because I’m an idiot and didn’t have the energy to leave the house again until after I’d eaten an entire plastic thingie of cinnamon graham crackers. They were good, but I felt really guilty afterward.
On the good side, the guilt and graham crackers got me out of the house and to Walmart where I found that Walmart now has their own version of zyrtec and since I took zyrtec last year for my allergies, I thought I might start it back up now that allerrgy season is starting. I’ve felt a little sniffly lately and I know its best to start allergy medicine asap and thus feel a lot less horrid later on. Last year I waited too long to start my allergy medicine and I needed to take both the zyrtec and a nasal spray and felt horrid for almost a month. Of course, last year was my worst allergy experience ever, so I hope it will not be repeated. I wonder how my allergies will be in Korea… I’ve heard they usually get worse, so I may end up taking allergy meds for a year. :shrugs:
Ooh, also I took my dog to the Bow Wow Wash this morning. It’s one of those places where you wash your dog and they supply everything. Kinda like a car wash for dogs I suppose. I loved it and am hopefully never taking Luna to the groomers again once I get back to the states. I mean, Luna was surprisingly well behaved. She just stood there in the tub and let me spray warm water, shampoo, and conditioner on her. Then she let them clip her nails and clean out her ears. Then she let me brush her down. Now she’s smell free and so shiny. I think we’ll do this again a day or so before the flight so she gets to be clean again and so we can support the new business. It’s actually owned by some people from church. it’s so new, I can’t even review it online since its not in any of the major review places that I normally check like Yahoo and CitySearch.
So my food for the day:
Breakfast: 2 egg with some cheddar sprinkled on top and some carb countdown milk used to make them more fluffy and some salsa and 3 slices of canadian bacon.
Lunch: Too busy with the dog wash and needed to get to work by 1, so I skipped it knowing I would be leaving at 2:30 for my dentist appointment and I was going to grab a bite beforehand, but decided to go to Walgreens instead since they had a sale on Neutrogena and I wanted to try out their tinted moisturizer. Okay, so then came the dental work and I stopped at Kroger on my way home and with my numb mouth could eat almost nothing except 2 laughing cow cream cheese triangles. No chewing involved.
Dinner: The rest of the hamburger from Bennigans and broccoli and a salad with cheese and blue cheese dressing.
After dinner snack: cinnamon graham crackers
but tasty.
Also, having even front teeth is so weird. We never had money for dental stuff while growing up and I certainly didn’t as a poor college student, so I’ve meant all year to take care of any lingering dental problems. At this time last year, I went to a Monarch Dental place and home never to go there again. 2 fillings was $250 with my insurance because they used an anaestetic not covered . So I finally got around to changing my primary care dentist to Dr. Houston who is not affiliated with Monarch (thank goodness). I also didn’t like Monarch because they told me I had gingevitus and 10 cavities and filled the 2 worst ones. Now I did have 7 more cavities so they were almost right, but I certainly don’t have gingevitus and they use high pressure sales techniques that I was NOT comfortable with. So for Dr Houston instead of paying $250 for 2 fillings, I paid $860 for 7 fillings and the veneer. I think that’s a pretty good deal for dental work.
Okay so I got the veneer because one of the cute little girls my g-ma watches pointed to my front teeth and asked what happened. Since I’m going to be teaching little kids, i don’t want them to be asking about my teeth, at least not too much. You see, my teeth a a bit uneven and a little crooked. I suppose I could have done with braces, but don’t particularly want them since they’re a multi-year commitment and I’m a commitment-phobe :-P So they made my slightly longer right tooth and the slightly chipped left tooth look even with the temporary. I can’t believe the change it makes my my smile to not have to smile with my bottom lip slightly overlapping the bottom of my teeth. Too cool, dentistry is awesome. This is an pic from a couple of weeks ago and I suppose you can’t really tell the front 2 teeth are uneven unless I’m talking, but still, they are totally even now.
