I can DO it!!!

So I haven’t done it yet. Who cares? The world is full of opportunities and today is my opportunity to be better. I’ve done well enough for the past couple of days. I’ve had breakfast, lunch, dinner, and an afternoon snack.  Usually I don’t get hungry for a morning snack until lunch time so that’s fine.

I was watching a really stupid anime this weekend called the Debutante Detective Corps and it was mst3k-able and I spent the whole time laughing. That said the cartoon characters were so thin. I would like to be thin enough to be called thin, not scarecrow, but skinny and I think 145 is a worthy goal. So how am I going to lose these 40+ pounds. The same way I’ve been trying. I have a renewed determination and a plan. For example, I spent some time on Sunday making charts for exercise, fitness, and food so I can keep track of everything and since it’s on the fridge, I see it everytime I enter and leave the house and whenever I go to eat in there. I’ve also been working to clean my kitchen more so I don’t get to the ‘ew’ I’m not cooking in there stage.

I was just talking to my coworker who started biking to work with a week of me and she happens to have a membership at the same fitness club, so we are going to workout at 7:30 pm Monday, Wednesday, and Friday nights for 1.5+ hours.  She’s committed like me, but she was in shape more recently also. I hope that the two of us working together and workout more reliably then me on my own.  Since we are both total fans of Heroes, we are going to push back working out the next 2 Mondays from 7:30 to 9:30. Heroes is more important the our health after all ;)

I suspect I may be prediabetic or diabetic. This is based on an article I read yesterday in Health and I have an appointment with my doctor scheduled for May 8 to find out. :( I suspect it since I bruise easily and have a family history. Also, when I was living in Korea, I got occaisonal hints of neuralgia that lasted for about a month after I returned. I thinks it may have been because of the low fat, but high sugar diet I had there. I mean Koreans put sugar in everything. Calling it neuralgia sounds cool, but it was just that my hands would tingle while walking Luna and it went away quickly and hasn’t happened again since then, but it seems like a warning sign.  I don’t have any of the other though, no tiredness or frequent urination or unexplained weight loss. Oh well, maybe I’m seriously borderline and controlling my sugar and carb intake will prevent it. :)

Congrats to Dad

OMG. My sister told me my Dad weighs 200 pounds now. I can’t believe it. Men have it so easy. Of course it helps that he  works out with a personal trainer a lot, but he isn’t really watching what he eats. He does have a new hobby though. He referees games for fun and profit. lol.

I was going to sign up for the hwsa (Houston Women’s Soccer Association), but the games and practices are all on the other side of town and I really don’t have time to drive an hour each way to play soccer. :( Soccer is a good workout too.  To my delight, when I got home last night from walking the dogs, I checked my mail and found the normal neighborhood junk mail and on one of the peices of mail, there was an ad for Fitness Connection. It’s a local gym that has everything my old 24 Hour SuperSport had plus costs only $10 a month and has a $99 initiation fee. Now the 24 Hour was 29.99 a month and a $79 initiation fee.

Fitness Connection has

  • a women’s only section
  • some really good counding classes
  • no weird smell
  • reasonably clean, although no free towels so most people don’t wipe off the equipment, but I’m not fussy about it
  • pool
  • sauna
  • jacuzzi
  • lots of cardio machines
  • raquetball court
  • basketball court
  • open 24-7

All in all, I’m happy with it (not have actually used it yet).  I’ve read some bad reviews from people complaining about the same things that go wrong at any club (over-charging when you try to cancel, dirty facilities, broekn into car, and customer service.) Nothing seemed particularly bad when I was there.  The salesman didn’t try to force the supplements or personal training on me. He just explained them and when I said no and explained that my money situation doesn’t allow too much extra right now, he backed up and took care of just the membership.

I was going to work out before work this morning since Wednesday is my 12-9 at branch day this month, but I woke up to the beginning of my period and with the nausea and lack of energy, I’m SO not going to the gym today. I should be better tomorrow.

So how am I going to integrate this whole gym thing into my life. I want to go in at least 4 times a week and not go on Sunday.  So I’m thinking  Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday as a regular thing for just over an hour each time.  I wonder if before work would be best since I hear it gets really besy between 5:00 and 9:00. Another option is simply waiting until 8:00 to go in and just catching the tail end of everything. So my goal is to go in from 8:00-9:30 Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday and any time on Saturday.  I’m going to wait on taking the classes because I build up my muscles a bit better.  Yes, as I think about it, 8-9:30 is perfect during the week because it allows me to get home, take the dogs on their walks and have dinner before going back out, but its not so late that it will keep me up. I’ll be back home well before 10 and the dogs will also have time to calm down before we go to bed.  I still need to start riding a bike. I think I may need to scrap my project bike because I will never clean it off and just buy a cruiser or cruiser/commuter bike and start riding it to help me get in shape and save money. I live so close to the Main Library that it won’t add more than 10 minutes to my commute and after the month starts, I don’t think I’ll have to come up here to work as often and I can start just taking the work car up here for meetings and such since they are work-related.

I want an aquarium. They are so beautiful and peaceful and my boss says I can have one in my office. Alright, I lie. She says I can keep a betta as long as I keep it alive and the setup isn’t an ‘aquarium’. I think what she means by that is I can’t set something big up. I should be able to set up a 3 gallon Eclipse (has the filter and light in the hood) on my desk and it won’t look like a steareotypical aquarium and won’t take up a lot of space and look impactful.  I’m going to wait to set one up until I work at main every day though since I’ll need to keep a close eye on it and try to feed it every day except weekends.  I put together a cart at petco and it was a bit expensive for eveything I want, but I think I can build it slowly. Buy the rocks, a mesh picker upper thingie, a couple of plastic plants, the food, water testing strips, and the aquarium first and pick up more decorations, the heater, and  a background later. Oh yeah, and pick up the betta at some point. I reckon I’ll get a male betta, either red or yellow or orange and he’ll live alone in the tank. The sound of the filter is supposed to be soothing and feng sui the space, so that’ll be nice too.

The Most I’ve Weighed in 5 Years

The first time I tried to diet was back in 2004 and I was pretty successful and lost 40 pounds. I think I started out at 195 or so. I weighed myself this morning and came out at 196. Yep, One Hundred and Ninety-Six pounds. That is SO not a good thing. I can’t believe it.  Also, I think I’ll wait on the exercise video thing since my ankle and knee both twinged something awful when I tried it yesterday. I guess my goal for the week is to focus on eating far more fruits and veggies and nothing containing sugar, starch, or wheat.  I CAN do it.  I got together my lunch for the next couple of days. Broccoli soup and a almost chef salad and jello. My snacks will be cheese and strawberries.  Unfortunately, my breakfast was leftover pizza, but I least its no longer in the house and I won’t buy anymore.  I think the secret to weightloss may lie in soups, especially broth based ones with veggies in them. Anyway, just an update :(

Ouch, my knee

I guess I slept wrong or something because my knee ached this morning. At least its not on the same leg as the ankle, the would be one heck of a limp. I think the dogs were kinda frustrated with me this morning since I walked a bit slow with my double leg injuries. It was weird, we came up to one corner and there were 3 cars in the intersection and two young people, teens?, sitting underneath the stop sign. No one seemed particularly injured and the cars didn’t looked damaged and weren’t touching each other, but an ambulance wizzed by the dogs a me a few minutes after we’d turned the opposite way on that corner. I do wonder what happened, but I suppose I’ll never know.

Now there is one thing that I definitely need to worry about.  I keep falling asleep before meaning to. Like while sitting on the couch reading a book or watching a movie and suddenly its hours later and I still haven’t wached my face or brushed my teeth. What I need to do is wash the face and brush the teeth at 8. There is no reason for me to drink anything but water or eat anything after 8, but I may as well brush my teeth. I do need to focus on regular meal times as well. So, how does this sound.

    I’m being Serial this time….

    lol, you don’t have to get it.  So yeah, I finally have moved into my kitchen and can cook again. This is right on time for some neighbors to move into the vacant downstairs apartment and now my apartment smells like smoke again. Hmmm, I’m noticing a trend here. smoke downstairs=smoke upstairs and my bottom cabinets are kinda scary, so I haven’t tried to do much with them. For now I’m relegated to using candles and suchlike to beat the odor. For awhile, I thought I could avoid air purifiers, but alas, that hope is gone. What’s really sad is that the downstairs smokers have a really cute 3 year old. Poor Mite.

    So, I’ve previewed the Bazilian dance workout and a pilates yoga blend that seem fun and energizing and within my capacity. the only problem is that my ankle gave out painfully twice last week and so I’ve been babying it. It’s still sore, but I can probably manage some sort of exercise video without too much trouble. I am still continuing to take the dogs on walks. I even got a second dog the week before last (hmm and my ankle which has never been sprained or anything goes out twice that within days coincidence?)

    I’m going to a large grocery on Saturday so I’ll have the opportunity to find some more exotic fruits and veggies. I could still use a microwave and I still don’t have a bed and one might be nice, but not for at least a month yet.

    Some possible recipes to dry this week:

    Cauliflower and Goat’s Cheese Puree (Faux Mashed Potatoes)

     Makes 4 servings

    • 1/2 large head cauliflower, cored and cut into 1-inch pieces(8 gr)
    • salt
    • 2 Tbsp. whipping cream .8 gr
    • 2 Tbsp. unsalted butter 0 gr
    • 2 Tbsp. freshly grated Parmesan cheese .2 gr
    • 2 Tbsp. goat’s cheese .3 gr

    Cook the cauliflower over medium heat in a large pot of lightly salted water until completely tender, 20-30 minutes.

    Drain the cauliflower into a colander. With a bowl or small plate, press on the cauliflower to remove all the water. Toss the cauliflower and continue pressing. This step is very important to the texture of the dish.

    Transfer the cauliflower to a food processor. Add the cream and puree until completely smooth. If you like a chunkier texture, mash by hand, adding the cream after the cauliflower is mashed. Return to the pot. When you are ready to serve the puree, heat over low heat, stirring constantly. Add the butter, Parmesan and goat’s cheese. Stir until incorporated and season with salt if necessary. Serve immediately.

    Cheesy Ham & Asparagus Rolls

    By : missbutterfli

    8 spears of asparagus, tough ends cut off
    8 slices of blackforest ham or prosciutto (about 4 oz)
    8 sticks of cheddar cheese (about 2 oz, cut into 8 sticks)

    To begin, steam asparagus about 2.5 minutes in microwave or other steamer, until tender crisp.

    Take one slice of ham, place 1 asparagus spear and one stick of cheese on top. Roll up tightly and secure with a toothpick. Repeat for remaining seven.

    Place in a spoke fashion with heads of spears facing out on a microwavable place. Microwave on high for about 25 seconds until rolls are warm to the touch. Serve!

    Egg MockMuffin

    Recipe: 1 pg. sausage meat
    10-12 eggs (beaten)
    6 tbsp. whipping cream

    Optional:
    1 oz. shredded cheese (cheddar, swiss, etc.)
    Cooked bacon pcs., mushroom pcs., diced onion …. use your imagination for variation.

    (1) Cook sausage meat untill crumbly.
    (2) Spray muffin tins with Pam (I use olive oil in a pump spray container).
    (3) Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
    (4) Pour cooked sausage meat into muffin tins, filling to half full.
    (5) Add water to beaten egg mixture, stir.
    (6) Add egg mixture on top of sausage meat to almost full.
    (7) Add cheese or optional items.
    (8) Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until done.
    (9) Remove from muffin tins and refrigerate.

    Good for on the run breakfasts or snacks.

    You can also make this using cooked bacon or ham instead of the sausage meat.

    Tofu-Egg Custard .. (dairy-free)

    By : Doreen T

    For the custard, don’t bother using the block tofu that comes in a bucket of water … it separates and goes watery with chilling. Use the silken tofu, in the tetra-pack. Actually, the lowfat-light type is LOWER in carbs than the full-fat version. One whole package of lowfat is 2.8 carbs, while the full-fat is 7.2! Go figure!

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Tofu-Egg Custard
    1 pkg Mori Nu light silken tofu, firm
    4 eggs
    1/2 cup bulk sweetener, or 12 packets, or 10 packets if mixing different types or stick yer finger in and taste to see when it’s sweet enough for YOU ..
    1 tsp pure vanilla extract
    2 Tbsp melted butter
    freshly grated nutmeg
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    - preheat oven to 325F. Generously butter a casserole or custard dish, set aside. Make sure oven rack is in center, not down low.
    - Blend everything but melted butter in food processor or blender, till smooth and creamy. Slowly drizzle in melted butter with motor running. Scrape down sides and blend a few seconds longer if necessary. Pour into buttered pan, dust the top with freshly grated nutmeg, and bake for 20 to 25 minutes or till just beginning to puff on the edges. It should still be soft and jiggly in the center, like me ..
    - cool to room temperature on rack, then cover and chill. When cold it has a dense, almost cheesecake-like texture.

    - carbs — 5.2 for the eggs & tofu (total) plus whatever sweetener you choose.
    -1/2 cup splenda would add 12 carbs, ..
    - 5 packets each splenda and sugartwin would add 7.5 carbs
    - stevia adds zero carbs
    - per 1/4 recipe serving, (with mixed sweetener) = 3.2 carbs, 12.5 gm protein.

    A New Year’s Begun

    So I’ve moved into my new place YAY and was very pround of myself for carrying all my stuff up the stairs to my second floor apartment.  It took me all day Sunday, but was so worth it. Awesome.

    I’ve also been taking Luna on walks 2 times a day and am going to start jogging with her next week.  I’m thinking about getting a puppy now so keep her company since I think she does get a bit bored with just me.

    So now that I’m moving in and have my bike and other stuff, what are my plans?

    Exercise:

    1. walk/jog/run with dogs 2xs a day
    2. ride bike to work and grocery store (both less than 2 miles from home)
    3. one fitness related leisure activity per month, like camping, horseback riding, mountain climbing, or going to the lake.
    4. do strength training 3 times a week for at least 30 minutes
    5. do cardio 3 times a week for at least 30 minutes

    Diet/ Food Plan:

    1. Eat out twice a week
    2. Eat breakfast, lunch, dinner, and an afternoon snack
    3. Eat a majority meat dish once a day (grilled when possible)
    4. Small and measured amounts of cheese and sour cream and cream cheese
    5. Only eat high fiber, whole grains once a day
    6. Eat as many eggs or tofu as wanted
    7. Eat as many fruits and veggies as wanted
    8. Nothing fried or heavy allowed
    9. A protein shake as a midmorning snack or meal substute is acceptable once a day.
    10. Eat fish/sea food 2 times a week
    11. Limit diet soda intake to 3 a day
    12. Drink water with every meal and between meal. Have a water bottle available at all times.

    So we shall see how well this works out. Part of the whole moving things was bringing in all the things I never wear anymore and I realized that most of my clothes are a size 10 and I really like most of them, have even sewed a few, so I really want to fit them again as soon as possible. I would like to fit into my size 10s by the middle of March. That gives me 3 months to lose 20-25 pounds. I would have gone for a total Atkins diet, but that can get a bit heavy and I get to craving fruits and veggies, so this is my compromise. Lean meats and cheeses, a lot of fruits and veggies, and limited amounts of low GI things.

    Seeing Twilight

    So I just got back from the midnight showing of  Twilight. It was awesome. I still haven’t read the books, but now I actually want to. I’m not much for horror or vampire lit, but the movie was so good, I think the books aren’t what I would expect. They also made sense and were interesting for me as a newbie, I could tell there were references to the book that I didn’t get, but they didn’t get in the way of the story. btw: It’s a story of first love with a little teen angst thrown in, but not too much and it doesn’t get in the way. Oh, and the mirror scene was seriously exciting and dramatic.

    All the bit characters were interesting. The story revolves around Bella and Edward, but the vampire characters and the classmates are flesh and blood. There were a few akward moments with the dialogue, but I think they were on purpose and they were nearly as bad as any of the Star Wars movies which I hold up as monuments to bad dialogue.   All in all, I think this has been my favorite midnight showing since the second Lord of the Ring. The audience was interested, good seats, and the movie was enthralling.  Let’s see if the midnight showing for Star Trek will compare.
    On a food note, I did eat popcorn with butter while waiting and it was sure tasty.

    Oops

    Today is a bit of an oops day. First I didn’t go to the exercise class today since I had so go on the mail run and they overlaped. Also I was scheduled for a phone interview today for a library in Virginia. I wrote down that it was 1:15 Central time when it was 1:15 Eastern time.  So I missed the interview and got a phone call in which the interviewer guessed my mistake and asked me to call back to reschedule. :blushes: Um, he also didn’t hang up his phone like he thought so I got to listen to the panel in the background. One of the comments was ‘or don’t call back’ in a sort of snotty voice, but that’s understandable. I mean who wants to hire someone who can’t remember to adjust for time differences.  Oh well. I did call them back and left a message. I’m not sure I even want this one since its a Head of Reference position and nowhere was this indicated on the announcement. Weird, but I feel woefully underqualified for it. I know I’ve already got a preliminary offer, but I know it would be stupid to halt my job search for a preliminary offer so I continue to apply and interview. I have another one on Friday at 1 EST, 12 CST (No I will not forget again.)  lol. You have to laugh, right?

    So there’s a rumor here at work that I got this guy fired. He was fired on Friday and one of the guys cme up to me yesterday and asked me about it. I had no idea what he was talking about.  This guy had left candy on my desk for a week before asking me out. I said I’d think about it (I don’t think well on my feet and a little while before, a friend was telling me I should just go out with him since he obviously liked me even if I wasn’t interested. So he hung out around me for 2 days before I got the nerve to tell him I wasn’t interested and it was fine. I mean, he did approach me in the mail room on Thursday and say “I’ve finally got you alone.” He didn’t say it like he was joking either. I laughed nervously and sidled out of there. The next day I didn’t see him and that was weird because I did usually see him a few times a day and then I heard he was fired. I just figured it was a performance thing.  :shrugs: But now there is a rumor that he was let go because he was stalking me. I’m not sure if I should ask someone since he certianly wasn’t stalking me and didn’t make me feel any more uncomfortable than any time you turn down a coworker for a date. Should I just let it go? I do feel guilty since I won’t be here muchy longer if the Pasadena job pans out and this guy did lose his job, but maybe someone simply noticed him following me around and put their own spin on his dismissal. You know how rumors are. Botheration. Now I feel self conscious whenever I go back to the work area. You know the weird thing is that the guy who told be about the rumor asked me where my glasses were since I was wearing my contacts and told me he really has a thing for glasses. Now this guy is kinda cute and around my own age, so if he’d asked me out I might have said yes. I guess rumors that I got some poor guy fired doesn’t stop other guys from flirting.  I was still a bit flumaxed by the rumor revelation, so I didn’t really respond to the flirting.

    Coworker firings aside, I do enjoy working around all these men.  Some good eye candy and more insight into the male brain.  Most of my jobs have been in predominantly female offices, so this is a revelation. I’ll miss it when I get back into a library.

    I had Taco Bell for lunch since I thought I would be interviewing during lunch and picked it up during the mail run. No such luck and I had some salad makings and a Healthy Choice in the fridge.

    I got some good stuff at Walmart yesterday, including these cute pink and white gloves, a pink yoga mat, and some exercise bands. Oh, and a npair of capri pants and tshirt hoodie and bags so I can take Luna on a walk. I also foud out that someone dropped the retractable leash and there’s a huge chip out of it. That’s a $25 leash too :( Oh well, I’ll live with it.

    I got it, but am still waiting for the start date…

    So that job I interviewed for a couple of weeks ago went through and I’m awaiting confirmation from the City Council of Pasadena.  I should be able to start  after Thanksgiving and before Christmas. I am so ready to move on and live on my own. I was looking for roomate situations, but I still haven’t found one and I do enjoy living on my own.  I think Luna will miss the back yard and family members, but will love going to the dog park more often and I will be nearer my sister and her family (yes, I’m just excited about my nephew and her potential little one, yep she’s preggers)).  So I’ve been looking around and given Hurricane Ike, I think the inventory isn’t what it could be. There’s only a few places within my $450-$500 a month budget that accept 35 pound dogs for less than a $500 non-refundable deposit.  I don’t mind 100-200, but I’m not paying more than that. After I get a start date, I will look more seriously and go down and look at some places while staying with my sister.  If I can’t find anything with availability, I can always stay with the sister for a few weeks while I look. I would prefer something more immediate so I can get the whole moving thing done and have my own place again.  I’m already got a whole lot of links to stuff I’m intersted in for my apt from Ikea and Walmart.

    Apartment  Requirements:

    • Within 10 miles of work. 5 would be better and more easily doable.
    • Within walking distance of a park and grocery store.
    • Discrete electricty so everything isn’t just averaged together with the energy sapping neighbors.
    • Hopefully it will be on the west side of Pasadena or Southeast of Houston since the place that does Heroes and the ward I’m looking at will both be in western Houston so I want to be closer to both than Baytown, even though the sister is further east than Baytown. I guess I just need to compromise.

    I’m looking to…

    • Bike to work at least 3 times a week. Preferably every day.
    • Daily Luna walks.
    • Weekly trips to the dog park.
    • Go to church every week.
    • See Heroes in the theater
    • Shop only once a week.
    • Buy food only after using the current food.
    • Stay true to my budget and swtay paying down the credit card and student loans.
    • Not get at home cable or internet. I guess I’ll rely on my work and free connection.
    • Be more social.
    • Limit fabric shopping
    • Sew for more people and enhance my skills.

    I guess I can mention that I’m doing a sort of Boot Camp at work. It’s 2-3 days a week and I’m really feeling it today. Somehow I don;t think it balances out the mashed potatoes, bisquit and gravy, and rolls I had as a lunch/midmorning snack.

    On the bright side, my sweet cousin put my bike together. I just need to buy a inner tube since the back one blew up or something within the tire. Bummer.  My bike is pink thugh. I think my goal for the weekend is to take care of any rusty areas and de-rust my Dad’s tools. Oops. I left them outside for 4 months.

    Modifying Atkins

    So I guess I’m having trouble with motivation and doing the dishes, and Atkins really requires more of a cleaning commitment then I am ready for. SO, I’m going to try to eat smaller low carby meals 4-5 times a day. 6:30, 11:00, 3:00, 7:00. This works really well with my work schedule, but we’ll see how it goes starting tomorrow. This is kinda a mix of many diets. I’m still avoiding any refined carbs, but eating a lot more fruits and veggies and less meat and cheese. I think this is really better for me as a Mormon as well since we’re not supposed to eat too much meat and I think eating meat at every meal borders on too much.  I’ll mix cold water with protein powder and drink that 15-25 minutes before meal times.

    Meal plan for the rest of the week:

    Wednesday

    Breakfast  Banana, 4 oz of plain yogurt with sugar free strawberry jam, 2 eggs scrambled with salsa

    Lunch  Raw broccoli with ranch dressing, frozen meal (saving money with this one)

    Snack  Banana, baby carrots with ranch dressing

    Dinner  Raw broccoli, canned soup (again saving money), hummus and celery

    Thursday

    Breakfast  Banana, 4 oz of plain yogurt with sugar free strawberry jam, 2 eggs scrambled with salsa

    Lunch  Raw broccoli, Low carb meatloaf-esque entree, sugar free jello

    Snack Banana, celery and hummus, slice of cheese

    Dinner  Raw broccoli, Grilled fish with avocado salsa, jello

    Friday

    Breakfast  Banana, 4 oz of plain yogurt with sugar free strawberry jam, 2 eggs scrambled with salsa

    Lunch  Raw broccoli, Low carb meatloaf-esque entree, sugar free jello

    Snack Banana, celery and hummus, slice of cheese

    Dinner  Raw broccoli, Grilled fish with avocado salsa, jello

    So my Grocery list for this evening is:

    1 small avocado

    celery

    fresh broccoli

    hummus

    bananas

    baby carrots

    Pre-packaged sugar free jello

    Yay, I’ve found a way to start a new diet and use most of my current food supply. Shall I call it my stash like with my fabric? lol

    Which reminds me, I’m going to actually make a costume for Halloween this year. I’m thinking about being a renaissance Little Red Riding Hood. Essentially, its the ren-fair bodice and attached skirt in red with a red cape and a white dress beneath. I like it and if I make the bodice stiff enough, it will hold me in. :)

    On the bright side, I’ve made my Luna happier by taking her on a lot more walks this past week. I haven’t made it to everyday, but I have been thinking about it.  I’ll have to take her on a short one tonight though since I really need to be focusing on sewing my costumes. My goal for this evening is to pick up the groceries and go to Lowes since the boning for the bodice is going to be that plastic stuff that holds bales of wood together. They just throw it away, but its so much cheaper and stiff while still being bendy then the stuff you buy at the sewing stores. I made my last ren fest costume with it and it worked wonderfully, but I can’t find that one and it was black rather than red, so it would’t work with this, but maybe I should actually look for it. Can ya’ll see my stream on consciousness there. lol.

    So tonight: groceries, getting boning and some storage boxes if not too expensive, cutting out patterns,  prepare hamburger caserole, do dishes, take Luna for a walk, do laundry :whew:

    Let me think out tomorrow too:  Cut out bodice and over skirt and sew skirt and most of bodice, take Luna for walk, cook soup for dinner, prepare avocado salsa so it can mix overnight,

    That means that for Thursday: Pick up final fabric selections for under-dress and cape, work on Bodice some more, cut out under-dress, Luna walk and have fish with salsa for dinner

    So Friday: Complete bodice and sew under-dress, cut out cape, make shrimp, Luna walk

    Saturday: I’m driving down to see Ann and need to make good food choices on the drive, NO GREASY FOOD.  So I’ll eat breakfast before the trip and eat only one meal during the drive….
