I have never, ever been skinny. Not ever. The last time I was in a single digit size was my junior prom (20 years ago). I have lost 40 pounds in the last 14 months, and will continue to eat well and exercise to see where it leads!
The first 17 pounds was by accident (stress due to job loss and the holiday season). The next 10 or so was just by cutting down portion sizes and the quantity of food I ate (and trying to be a little bit more active). The last 12+ were from sexymama’s bootcamp, session 1.
I am trying to make this a lifestyle change, because I want to be healthy (also, I am tired of buying new clothes). After reading (part of) “The Omnivore’s Dilemma” and Jillian Michaels’ “Master Your Metabolism”, I am disgusted by the food industry and processed food, and try to avoid it now whenever possible (though I still have some in my home I’m trying to get through). Luckily, I love to cook and I enjoy trying out new recipes.
I know that adapting a healthy lifestyle will also help with the other goal I’ve had for a few years — having another child. Hopefully, this will happen for us soon!
