Oh, Tuesday…

I got in my 5k run yesterday - I rocked it in 33 minutes!!!! I had to double check, but sure enough! And here I was feeling slow and yuck because it was chilly out. We made chicken sausage for dinner and then I did Burn Circuit 1. I am definitely getting stronger..still broke a [...]

Exhausted

Posted by: Fat Pants In: ChaLEAN Extreme| Food

I wish I could turn off my brain!!
Yesterday’s snow storm was much ado about nothing until last night. Then we really got hit! I was worried about driving my 4Runner on the ice… we got it in April and never really had a chance to get used to driving it on the snow since it [...]

Dole shredded carrots (about 1/2 cup)
Cilantro

Done and done

Posted by: Fat Pants In: ChaLEAN Extreme| Food

Yesterday was a 3 mile run at the gym. Call me crazy but I’m actually starting to like running on the treadmill again. I don’t know what happened in my mental shift (I used to loathe it) but I work up such a good sweat and have been running so well that it’s enjoyable now. [...]

Good food/nasty food

Posted by: Fat Pants In: 30 Day Challenge| Food

Day 8 review

Exercise: Cross training day, so 15 min elliptical/15 min stationary bike/15 HIIT on treadmill
Food: Definitely good
Stretching/PT: Yes! And good news there… I have read/been told that when your IT band is not inflamed, the foam roller won’t hurt. I started rolling out my leg last night and it didn’t hurt at all! Previously [...]

Wednesday, schmednesday

Posted by: Fat Pants In: Food

Yesterday was the same ol’, same ol’. Got home and baked a turkey breast for dinner. It turned out well, but now I’ve got a LOT of turkey to use up! I made stock out of it overnight in the crockpot…nothing like homemade turkey soup! DH and I went for a walk and then to [...]

Looking ahead

Posted by: Fat Pants In: Food| workout

Now that I can run over 3 miles and sustain running for longer than half an hour, I’ve been thinking a lot lately about looking ahead post-5k race and what that will entail. I like Hal Higdon’s 10k novice training program and think I could easily increase my mileage in about 10 weeks if I [...]

Fish (or chicken) tacos recipe

Posted by: Fat Pants In: Food

ok ladies, I’m warning you, this is not exactly a healthy  meal. It really is all dependent on whether or not you can eat just one taco…but it IS very filling. Of course you could always grill the fish/chicken instead of frying it like the recipe calls for. I will probably do that in the [...]

It is SO on!

Posted by: Fat Pants In: Food| Weigh in| workout

This little competition we have going on has done wonders for my motivation. Yesterday I worked late, it was 90 degrees out by the time I got home and all I wanted to do was take a nap, but I strapped on my running shoes anyway and did some speed/hill work around the neighborhood. I’ve [...]

I’m thinking of a margarita….

Posted by: Fat Pants In: Food

One of the days on our vacation, we went into the town of Playa del Carmen and walked around 5th Avenue. It’s a closed off street full of vedors selling you anything and everything you could possibly think of, tourists, hotel-bars owned by locals and ex-pats, and these amazing quaint restaurants. We were recommended this [...]
