Why, why, WHY?

Posted by: Fat Pants In: General

We have TWO separate storms moving in tomorrow through Sunday! 60% chance of rain/snow on Saturday! NATURALLY it has been in the 60s all week…grr! Maybe I will get lucky and they’ll cancel the race …haha. Just kidding. Well, kind of. I would love not to give up half of my weekend to go to Denver in crappy weather. Because running in rain and snow? Doesn’t exactly sound like my idea of a great time.

Sigh.

So begins my taper. I had planned on 3 miles + CE yesterday, but by lunchtime my hips were very sore and achey so I decided to forgo the running - don’t want to aggravate the knee. Given that I’ve never run 6.2 miles before, my legs need all the rest they can get. I am tempted to go to the gym today but I really just need to let go of the idea of weight loss right now. I’m down on the week, don’t get me wrong. But I can’t hamper my taper period just to see a scale result. Besides, running 6.2 miles is going to be a lot of exercise. Ridiculous! But I’ll be honest, I’m loving the idea of not having to exercise today and tomorrow. Oh, sweet rest.

I’m trying to decide what shoes would look best with the red dress. Red? Silver? The problem with red is finding a matching red since the dress is a “deep red” color. Maybe it would be safer to go with a metallic shoe.

I’m full of boredom today, so that’s all for me!

gosh, everytime you race it snows or rains!! No fair! LOL Maybe you need to plan a race somewhere warm….LOL

Hmmmm…I agree, finding the right shoe to go with a red dress is hard. Metallics are at least in right now, so plenty of choices.

Good luck on your race! =D 6.2miles sounds so daunting. HOPEFULLY the weather isn’t horrible.

Metallic shoes would look so cute. It is hard to find the right shade of red.

I should just eat pizza toppings like my mom does LOL

Ooo! Good luck! Yes, rest is a great idea. And I don’t think you’re a paosta person - but pasta is good too (the night before). Have you thought of going to like david’s Birdal and having shows dyed? They have a gazillion colors - there may be one similar to your. Of I know some store do customer dyeing. I suppose it all depends on how much you want to spend

Oh, I hope you have good weather for the race. 6 miles is ridiculous! I vote for a silver or some kind of metallic shoe and purse. Red would be too much red and too matchy-matchy-brides maid. Silver would look great with silver jewelry.

Oooh good point about the red shoes being too matchy-matchy! I hadn’t thought of that!

Nooooo, colored heels are THE newest thing/rage! People magazine says so! Take it to a shoe store; most will dye to match. OR, go with some awesome black heels…maybe suede. (says the so. Cali girl who doesn’t have to worry too much about the elements on said shoes.)
