I am SO OVER this not sleeping thing that’s been going on since we got back from vacation! It takes me until midnight to fall asleep, only to wake up every hour after that until the alarm goes off at 5. Even on the days that I run -when I expect to sleep better because I’m exhausted - I’m still tossing and turning. I hate drinking coffee but right now it’s the only thing that keeps me from falling asleep at my desk. Lame!
So I survived the business dinner last night. I managed to slip out around 8:00 and was home by 8:30. Dinner last night was good UNTIL dessert was brought out. I had salad, a very small (2 oz) piece of steak, 2 steamed shrimp and some green beans. We also had some potato casserole thing with it, but I left that alone. Then dessert - a sample plate of chocolate cake, raspberry cheesecake and a strawberry tart. All very small. All destructive! I left most of the tart and ate the cheesecake and chocolate cake. So, still not bad for being tempted with bread and alcohol for most of the evening. And the husband took 173-lb photos:

I was thinking on the way home from dinner last night about how good I felt about myself. And that really makes all of the hard work worth it. In the end at my goal weight, if I don’t see myself as a beautiful person, all this work is done in vain.
