I CAN fit in my pants!

Darn Monday…. you found me yet again!

Posted by: Fat Pants In: General

How is it that I had a weekend of nothing planned and it still goes by super fast? A weekend to rest… and I’m still exhausted come Monday morning?

Hmph.

I did have a wonderful weekend. I rested on Friday, went to happy hour (had ice tea!) with friends, relaxed and hung out with hubby at home. On Saturday we (tried) to run the 5k - this IT Band issue is more of a problem than I anticipated it to be. I had to walk a lot… it starts hurting about 20 minutes into my run and I can’t run through it. I’m going to try the anti-inflammatory-stretching (pre-run) and ice-massage (post-run) protocol this week. If that doesn’t work, I’ll move on to the foam roller. It’s so frustrating! I will be so sad if this causes me to not run the entire race. :( Trying not to freak out just yet. Hold it together, Fat Pants!

Ok, so. Saturday we had my company picnic. I did awesome! I had some fruit, some veggies and one small cookie with icing, avoiding all the yummy desserts and good smelling food. Sunday we did church and then I went shopping while DH played golf. I bought some black pinstripe pants in a size 12 (!!) and a cute brown/green/blue striped top for work. We have a big customer event this week so our clients will be on/off site through Thursday. i’m wearing the top with a black pencil skirt today… I feel so good about myself! Tomorrow is the fancy business dinner where I get to wear my dress I picked up before vacation. Excited about wearing the dress; not excited about giving up my evening to do a work function. Oh well.

My parents decided to push back their visit another week, so my new goal is to be at 170 when they get here. 4.5 lbs. Almost 3 weeks? I think I can do it. All of my high school friends are talking on Facebook about rounding up everyone for our 10 year high school reunion next year. Am I really that old? (Don’t laugh!) Weird to think about. But it’s good to know I’ll be below goal by that point which would be about 20 lbs below what I was in high school. Once I hit goal, I’d really like to focus on toning (which means… hiring another personal trainer? Finally picking up New Rules of Weight Lifting for Women?) and of course continuing to train for my 10k/half marathon/full marathon.

You know what gets me? I remember my senior year of high school when I hit 150 lbs and I was SO FAT. I guess I was, compared to all the 110 lb skinny minnies, but still. I would give up pizza to be 150 lbs right now.

Perspective is everything.

PLEASE GOD, let my knee heal up. I am itching to run!

so I was dying to know, did you choose the pizza last night or the chicken pesto sandwich? LOL

You are doing so great. What a bummer about the running injury. make sure you take care of it, I hope it doesn’t hold you back from your goal.

Yes, 150, that is what I weighed when I got married at 27, and I felt like a blimp back then…..perspective is a strange thing, isn’t it? I would honestly, be thrilled to weight what you weigh right now.

Well DH didn’t help. He called on his way home from golf and said “I want pizza for dinner!” So we got pizza but I could only have one slice since it’s the NY style (you know, big and greasy LOL) and it’s 400 cals for one slice. That’s alright though, I wasn’t that hungry so one slice was just enough!

You poor thing! I hope the knee heals soon. That’s got to be so discouraging. But even if it doesn’t, there are other ways you can work out, and slowly build back up. The important thing is to not make it worse by trying to do too much right now. :: hugs ::

So I’m thinking if you’d give up a pizza to be at 150 again, then give it up! :-) Or other little things. Honestly, you’re not very far away AT ALL! You’re at about 174 judging from your blog, and that is just 24 tiny little lbs away. You’ve already lost about 40+ right? More maybe? And 24 IS less than 25, so you even have a 1lb head start. Take it 5 lbs at a time, 174 to 169, 169 to 164, and suddenly you’re goin 164 to 159 (see the light in sight!??), from there it’s less than 2 more stages… good luck and keep up the great work!

Mmm…pizza. That shouldn’t sound so good to me!

Good job on only having one slice. And congrats on your size 12s.
