July wrap-up

Posted by: Fat Pants In: Weigh in| workout

This was a big month for me! I can’t believe July is already over and August is here. DH starts back to school at the end of August which means an adjusted schedule but we’ll make it work. Thank goodness he only has three more classes left and then he’s done.
So, let’s see. In July…

I [...]

Oh, rain…

Posted by: Fat Pants In: Deep thoughts by Fat Pants

Woke up to 40s (yes, 40s!!!), gray, rainy and wet. Yuck! Days like today make me wish I was at home, curled up  in bed with a good book and my cat. Hmm, only 6 more hours of work…
Honestly. It feels like Christmas will be here soon with the way this weather is going. I [...]

I’m too young to feel this old!

Posted by: Fat Pants In: General

I slept on my neck wrong and woke up with a terrible neck ache/headache. Sleep last night was restless… I woke up several times and just couldn’t get back to sleep. I hate it when that happens! I feel like a cranky old woman today… LOL.
Yesterday was a pretty good day. My coworker wanted to [...]

Looking ahead

Posted by: Fat Pants In: Food| workout

Now that I can run over 3 miles and sustain running for longer than half an hour, I’ve been thinking a lot lately about looking ahead post-5k race and what that will entail. I like Hal Higdon’s 10k novice training program and think I could easily increase my mileage in about 10 weeks if I [...]

I am Super Woman!!

Posted by: Fat Pants In: workout

I hit a MAJOR running milestone yesterday. DH mapped out a 4-mile route in our neighborhood and since I hadn’t run since Friday, I decided yesterday afternoon to just suck it up and do it even though I’d rather be lazy. The route has a lot of hills, some pretty major and I thought for [...]

I can’t complain

Posted by: Fat Pants In: Deep thoughts by Fat Pants| Weigh in

Sometimes I get so caught up in meeting goals that I forget to look at the big picture. I like setting mini-goals for myself because it keeps me motivated… this shouldn’t surprise me since one of the reasons why journalism worked well for me is because I was always up against deadlines. I’m a procrastinator [...]

Thursday

Posted by: Fat Pants In: General

lol. I really have nothing interesting to say today. Yesterday’s eating was good - had grilled hot Italian sausage and onions/peppers for dinner. I got home from work and tried to take a nap but maybe only napped for 15-20 minutes before DH got home. I told him to go running without me and I’d [...]

Reset button? Anyone?

Posted by: Fat Pants In: progress photos

I am SO OVER this not sleeping thing that’s been going on since we got back from vacation! It takes me until midnight to fall asleep, only to wake up every hour after that until the alarm goes off at 5. Even on the days that I run -when I expect to sleep better because [...]

Yes, I’ll have some coffee…make it quadruple.

Posted by: Fat Pants In: General

We had a crazy storm roll in about 12:30 last night - got an inch of rain in 30 minutes, big hail, hurricane-like winds, some tornadoes. Insane! It woke DH and me up and I had a hard time getting back to sleep. I think I’m functioning on about four hours of sleep. Thankfully most [...]

Darn Monday…. you found me yet again!

Posted by: Fat Pants In: General

How is it that I had a weekend of nothing planned and it still goes by super fast? A weekend to rest… and I’m still exhausted come Monday morning?
Hmph.
I did have a wonderful weekend. I rested on Friday, went to happy hour (had ice tea!) with friends, relaxed and hung out with hubby at home. [...]

  • brseay: Wow, you are making some incredible progress! Do you do any pilates? I know it doesn't burn a lot of calories but it does do a lot to flatten your
