Serenity now!!

Work politics! Ugh! SERENITY NOW a la George Kastanza! LOL

I just keep reminding myself only 7 more work days until vacation… naturally they are probably going to release new software while I’m gone, so from now until my last day, I’ll be busy as heck. Oh well. It will make the time go by faster.

My weight is holding steady, for which I’m grateful given how I’ve been eating this week. It’s all been within my calories, but loaded with sodium..and my water has been terrible. I got in an hour-long walk yesterday at lunch time, which helped a lot. I found the trail and am very excited since now I can run on my lunch breaks. It’ll make it easier for days where I’m not sure I’ll have the time during the evenings, like tomorrow! We have friends coming over for dinner, I have a late afternoon training at work, and still need to run to the grocery store, so running at lunch time will be perfect for busy days like that. It’s a pretty popular trail, although I saw a sign warning of mountain lions (what the heck!!) when I started, but there are so many other lunch time exercisers that I don’t think I need to worry too much unless I start into the Air Force Academy property…but I’ll never go that far. I do need to look into a wrist pack or some other type of pack I can carry with me so I’ll have my ID, cell phone, etc in case I ever need them. I don’t feel good running at Garden of the Gods by myself, even though it’s such a popular tourist destination so there are always plenty of people. But you never know. Better to be safe! Anyway, the trail is pretty well maintained, some hills but nothing terrible. Enough to give me a good workout at lunch! I’m so very excited about this! :)

Yesterday was good. I had a dentist appointment and NO CAVITIES! Yippee! I have had bad experiences with dentists so I’m always a little (a LOT) anxious when I go, but everything was fine…whew. My marathoner friend whose husband is out of town called and wanted to see a movie (I think she was lonely! I understand!) so I had her over for dinner and we went to see UP! What a strange and somewhat depressing movie. Very strange. But it was good to hang out with her. There were people already camping outside of the theater for the Transformers movie…that doesn’t release until next week! Crazy teenagers. I didn’t get home until 10 and I was wiped out. I dreamt of being at Playa del Carmen and was woken up by my stupid alarm clock. Rough start this morning! DH and I will run at the park today since that’s about the only chance we’ll have this weekend. Tomorrow is busy. Saturday morning we leave for Steamboat! Reminds me, I STILL need to research a good hiking trail. I may be able to get in some exercise on Saturday evening, but I’m not banking on it. Then Sunday, it’s hiking and back down for a Father’s Day dinner with my ILs in D-town. Hopefully it won’t be too late since we still have to drive an hour home. It’s going to be a busy weekend!

And I’m drowning in deadlines!

I took the boys to see Land of the Lost yesterday, and was curious about up. when I went into the book store, I picked up a kids book, just to see what the storyline was, and after the first page, I was like, WTF? ok, an old man and a dog with a collar that can translate his thoughts into words….and a house they were trying to lift up…weird! LOL

the afternoon run sounds good. Do you worry about returning to work all sweaty? god, I hate to sweat! LOL I think I have a phobia! LOL

hope the time till vacation goes by swiftly and effortlessly!!!

Awww you guys are great. Of course I will post a bunch of pictures!! :) I’m still debating if we will take our laptop or not… LOL

I’ve heard good things about UP, too, but it was very sad! I don’t want to spoil it, but I probably wouldn’t take my kids to see it? It wasn’t what I was expecting at all!

Renee I work in the basement with only two other people so I’m not too worried about the sweat haha. I should probably bring some extra deodorant, though!

Oh my..your week sounds crazy. Just keep reminding yourself you only have a few more days left. Do yourself a favour and don’t bring the laptop.. I find I enjoy myself so much more when there are no phones/computers around. It forces me to relax!
