I hate this week…

…which has nothing to do with my diet or weight for once!

It has been a tough week.. and it’s only Wednesday, which makes me wonder what else is in store for the rest of the week. Sunday we discovered that the guest room/nook area didn’t have any power. Tried a new breaker - didn’t work. So now it’s a goose hunt to find bad or loose wiring. Why they used one wire for that huge area is beyond me, since even the guest bathroom is on its own wire. Whatever. It’s just annoying. Monday, my husband turned on his uber-expensive laptop and got the blue screen of death. He tried several times to get past it, but it shuts down before he can get Windows to boot up. Surprisingly, he’s taking this all in stride with a good sense of humor. This sort of stuff stressed me out, so I’m glad DH is being level-headed about it.

Yesterday we ended up going to Panera. I had half of a 1/2 cobb salad (170 cals) and a cup of french onion soup (210 cals). I stayed within cals, but man that stuff is loaded with sodium. Plus I had Thai hot and sour soup yesterday for lunch, which didn’t help!

The big news is that my brother told us that they are having a baby in February (just found out yesterday). This should be awesome news, but I loathe my SIL for a loooot of reasons. The gist of it is that she is very controlling and has said some stuff to my family that just shocks me that any sane person would act this way. My brother has NO friends and will only see me whenever she’s in Denver visiting her family - and then he won’t tell her! Doesn’t that seem weird? Ugh. I am pretty sure she hates me.

So, my heart sank when he told us. I should be happy. I want to be happy. But I’m sad. At least I didn’t take it out on food. I didn’t get to run at all yesterday.. got home and had to get everything set up with our new bedroom set. Then we ran to Wally World for some errands before dinner. I have a dentist appointment after work today, but it’s at 4 so I have to stay an extra hour at work before leaving since it’s on this side of town. So I’m thinking about running at lunch time. I brought all of my stuff, so it’s just a matter of removing my butt from the desk and going.

I have a controlling, bitch of a SIL too, so I totally feel your pain. :: hugs ::

Good job on the dinner, but yep, the sodium was probably through the roof. Drink lots and lots of water today.

I hope you get the run in; it will help with your stress, sweetie. Have a GREAT day! :D

I’m sorry about your SIL but your brother allows her to treat him that way unfortunately. Not saying it in a bad way or anything… If I tried to control my husband like that he’d flip lol.

I know what you mean, when people around me buy a new house or get pregnant I’m happy for them but part of me is like :( because I want a house and child too! It passes though.

COngratulations on reaching the halfway point :)

Yeah, my husband stole my water bottle so it’s gonna take some effort to get in all that water today! But I gotta make it a goal!

Beerab I agree, he does let her treat him that way and I think that’s what boggles me…. we used to be so close until she came into the picture and then it was like he changed to a completely different person. I don’t know him much at all now. :(

You never know, babies have a way of changing ppl. Esp controlling ppl. Because kids are the ONE thing in life YOU CANNOT control completely, no matter how hard you try. My brother is married to a very controlling woman also….and yes, he allows her to do the things she does, but he is the one who has to live with her, not me. They adopted a child recently, and I tell you, she is a changed woman…really. I hope the same for you…then you CAN be happy! :)
