Well, wouldn’t you know it

After exercising for a total of 1 hr and 15 minutes yesterday (go me!) and sticking OP the entire day, I decided to brave the scale this morning and see the damage I have done from not working out consistently and eating whatever I wanted for the past three months.

The scale flashed 153.0 lb. LOL!!!!! My scale is broken. I know I weigh over 200. If I reall weighed 153 my size 16 jeans would be falling off me, and they are most definitely NOT. I wish I only weighed 153! Then I’d only have 20 lbs to lose instead, say, 75 or so. Ugh. That’s what I get for not stepping on the scale since June. I tried the scale about four times and it always said 153. Well, if it’s going to be wrong, at least it’s consistent!

I am tempted to go buy a scale, but I will have to wait until pay day this Friday, which is a total bummer because I wanted to buy one of those big exercise balls, but between that and a new scale, that’s over $50 which is 75% of my grocery budget. That, and we seem to have lost ALL of our Christmas ornaments when we moved, so I need to buy some. :( They are 40% off at Hobby Lobby this week, so it’s a good week to go. So the scale it will be, and the exercise ball I’ll put off until next pay day.

Anyway, so, I went to the gym and worked out on the elliptical and cross trainer for 35 minutes. I forgot my HRM at home but I took note of my heart rate during the workout - 185 avg. Makes it easier to calculate calories burned when I don’t have my HRM. Daily Plate calculated about 450 calories. After supper, DH and I went on a 45 minute walk where I burned 500 calories! Whoa!

By the way, I had a really good meal last night. I first saw it in Rachel Ray’s magazine and kind of adapted it. You just take two chicken breasts (if serving two - I took one large breast and sliced it in half) and dredge them in flour, and then sautee them in 2 tbsp olive oil until done. Then, I just warmed some Frank’s Hot Sauce, poured it over the chicken, and topped with 1 oz of blue cheese crumbles. YUM. It tastes exactly like you’re eating hot wings, except without the deep frying. totally satisfied my inner junk food craving.

Now I sauteed, but the original recipe calls for breading in bread crumbs, frying first and then finishing off in the oven. Spark Recipes calculated my version out to about 400 cals for 4 oz of chicken, 3 tbsp of sauce and 1 oz of blue cheese. We had it with a green salad and sliced tomatoes. Mmmm!
