When hormones take you hostage

Posted by: Fat Pants In: General

Boy, I have been a mess lately. Seems like the smallest comment makes me want to cry!
So last week as DH and I were heading to dinner on Friday night, I was gabbing away about the gym and he asked me how much weight I had to lose. I got quiet and said… “a lot.” [...]

Yum.

Posted by: Fat Pants In: General

OK, so… food.

Last night, I made the most awesome green chile carnitas in the slow cooker. It’s insanely easy to make.

4 pork tenderloin cutlets (about 4-5 oz per cutlet)
1 jar tomatillo salsa
2-3 cups chicken stock (I used homemade stock from a few weeks ago when I made a whole chicken)
Dried cilantro, cumin, corriander, garlic, salt, [...]

Poop and Ants

Posted by: Fat Pants In: General

Lots to talk about.
My day is starting off pretty crappy. Ever since  I had my gallbladder removed almost 4 years ago (actually, 4 years ago this month!), I’ve had, um, digestive problems. Either I’m-going-to-die indigestion (of which only Prilosec can cure), or a few days of constipation followed by the sudden urge to visit the [...]

Meal Planning (again)

Posted by: Fat Pants In: Food

I’ve been excited lately about trying some new recipes instead of our old stand-bys. when you eat healthy, it tends to get a bit redundant for us, so I found a site that has a ton of low-fat, low-cal meals. Here are some of my favorites that I want to try next week:
Feta-Stuffed Chicken Breast
Chicken [...]

Turkey success!

Posted by: Fat Pants In: Food| workout

In the past, we’ve not had good luck with good-tasting ground turkey meals. Last night was an exception, though. I think mixing in a ton of spices, and making my own spaghetti sauce really helped. It was really yummy, which is good, because I was STARVING by the time I got home at 7!
I really need [...]

Meal planning

Posted by: Fat Pants In: Food

Since I was a doofus and went to the store without meal ideas, I need to come up with some stuff for the week:
Monday: turkey meatballs with Barilla Plus penne pasta
Tuesday: Hmmm..have some pork cutlets, and tomatillo salsa so I think we’ll have green chile pork tacos in the slow cooker again
Wednesday: Paprika chicken (need [...]

Wow, where did the weekend go?
Friday, I managed to get in a 40-minute cardio session after dinner and grocery shopping, then came home to watch In the Name of the King, which was totally cheesy. Thank goodness for Netflix! Saturday, we headed over to Peterson AFB for employer appreciation day for the AF Reserves. DH [...]

Goodness… weight loss already!

Posted by: Fat Pants In: Food| workout

Even though I said I wouldn’t weigh myself until next Wednesday, I stepped on the scale this morning and had another great surprise: down 2 lbs.! Hooray! I haven’t weighed this little in a long time… probably 4-5 months. I got in a 40-minute workout at the gym yesterday. It felt so good! I felt [...]

Go me!

Posted by: Fat Pants In: General

I got in a great 35-minute workout yesterday. I love my new gym. The machines are really high-end (LifeCycle or something like that), and really easy on the joints. Yestserday I did the elliptical for 20 minutes and the bike for 15. Today I’d like to shoot for 40 minutes. I still haven’t done the [...]
