BMI (Body Mass Index) is a math formula using your weight and height to establish a numeric value, which helps to gauge your risk for weight related health problems. Higher BMI numbers are related to increased chances of cardiovascular diseases, high blood pressure, diabetes, stroke, and certain kinds of cancers. Many health organizations consider a BMI of 20 – 24 to be optimal.
