If you have been looking for ways to lose weight, one question that has probably come up for you is ‘are natural weight loss pills effective?’ You might even be wondering what natural weight loss pills are.
Herbal Weight Loss Pills
Some examples of herbal weight loss pills, or their ingredients, are:
- Green Tea
- Guar Gum
- St.John’s Wart
- Yerba Mate
Some of these are stand alone ingredients, which mean that they are the main ingredient and are touted as the reason for the weight loss. Others are simply natural ingredients that are usually included in diet pills, but are considered to contribute to the weight loss.
There are two main claims to weight loss products containing natural ingredients:
- the pill helps to suppress the appetite
- the pill blocks the ability of the body to absorb fat, to a certain degree
These diet pills are one of the most popular forms of natural weight loss pills, and they come in many different brands. Green Tea pills are meant to curb your appetite and increase your metabolism.
Green Tea pills consist of mainly green tea, which contains caffeine, the main reason and source of increased energy and metabolism. It can also contain other ingredients which contribute to these effects, including Chromium, Guarna and others.
Green Tea pills have been shown to have some effect on weight loss because of the curbing of the appetite. A benefit to using Green Tea weight loss pills is that they contain natural antioxidants. So, regardless of whether they work for you to lose weight, they do have some ingredients that are healthy for you.
You do need to read the ingredient list to make sure you are not sensitive to any of the contents, as not all Green Tea weight loss pills are the same at all. You also need to be sure there is not excessive caffeine as that can have adverse effects.
These diet pills are increasingly popular and contain Hoodia Gordonii, which is grown in the South African desert and is a succulent plant. The claim is that Hoodia Gordonii contains an ingredient called P57 which suppresses the appetite.
There are no known side effects to taking Hoodia that have been reported. In fact, it has been effective in many reported cases.
You do need to be aware, though, that Hoodia is not FDA approved. There are also many counterfeit makers of Hoodia, and if the bottle does not say that it contains 100% Hoodia, you should not buy it.
The bottom line is this: no matter what type of diet pill you choose to use, natural or not, weight is not going to be lost on a permanent basis without some lifestyle changes also. Eating healthy and exercising cannot be replaced by a pill.
