A Women’s Fitness Magazine Buying Guide

A Women’s Fitness Magazine Buying Guide

Choosing the right women's fitness magazine for yourself can be determined by looking at what products advertise within them.  Another sure way of knowing if you are getting everything you need from a fitness magazine is to buy one of each, or simply visit the online version of the publication.  After reviewing them, you will know which ones target your interests and lifestyle.  Chances are you will become a subscriber of more than one.

Self

This is every woman's magazine.  Articles cover:

  • diet
  • fitness
  • health
  • beauty
  • fashion
  • well-being

The magazine covers all areas of health in a woman's life.  It offers fun fitness challenges and looks at latest trends sweeping the country.  It's a magazine that empowers women everywhere to be the best person they can be, and it strengthens mind, body, and soul.

Women's Health

Women's Health takes it one step further than Self magazine by featuring articles on relationships and life. This is the complete woman's guide, and it is loaded with articles that are aimed to help you succeed at work, home, and at play.

Muscle and Fitness Hers

This is the female version of Muscle and Fitness, and it grew from the demands made by women wanting training advice. Many of the articles deal with hard core training and the needs of women bodybuilders and figure models.  While it's for the serious trainer, all training information is applicable to the average fitness person.  Good fitness advice is plain good fitness advice.  What separates this magazine from others, is its sole focus is on training.  If you want to know more about weight training, then you should have a subscription to this hard core magazine.

Oxygen Magazine

This magazine is published with the competitive fitness person in mind.  It is used by many women in the fitness industry as a resource for targeted body exercise plans, exercise plans for functional strength, and tips on new trends in fitness (especially the competition industry).  It is loaded with diet and exercise tips, and even the advertisements help the reader evaluate the many supplements on the market. It has a regular feature on the up and coming fitness stars, and it publishes photos and results from fitness competitions.  Another distinction with this magazine is the exposure older women receive. While its biggest market and fans are fitness models and competitors, it has a lot to offer all women, especially women in the 30's and 40's.

Each print magazine also has an online version that can be accessed via the web.  Check out their websites regularly for diet challenges and other exclusive offers.  You might just become a fan of something new, like yoga, or be the first among your friends to know the latest and greatest fitness trend or fashion.

Interesting thoughts. I would be careful with Muscle and Fitness and Oxygen. Unless you have specific goals related to bodybuilding and fitness competition physiques then i would stick with Womens Health and Self. Just my opinion.
