Q: I have problems staying motivated. I have so much weight to lose and my goal is so far away that it seems like I?ll never reach it. What can I do?
A: The journey begins with one step. Don?t look at the entire mountain and get overwhelmed. Don?t weigh yourself every day. Set up short-term goals like ?I am going to do 3 workouts by Friday and will weigh myself in two weeks. I will lose 3 pounds by then.? Once you reach the short-term goal then make another. Small victories will build confidence and help keep you motivated to win the big battle. Another trick is to find a motivational quote or photo and pin it to your medicine cabinet or refrigerator. Save each quote and look back at them every once in awhile, to remind yourself of how far you?ve come.
