6 Ways to Prepare Low Fat Chicken

Part of your healthy eating program should include some meals with low fat chicken. Chicken is a good source of protein and helps to maintain the low fat portion of your diet. Chicken should be eaten without the skin on in order to avoid the fat and cholesterol.

There is a way to make lasagna lower in fat than it normally might be. The keys are to use a low fat content cheese, and include spinach and ground chicken. 5 – Chicken Curry Pita Sandwiches

This idea can use several substitutions and still be low fat and nutritious. Fresh cooked and sliced white meat chicken is the way to go. You can use low fat yogurt or sour cream as the base.

6 – Angel Hair Pasta with Chicken and Vegetables

This is a favorite and probably the easiest low fat chicken recipe that can be varied to your liking.  Remember to use olive oil and fresh, sliced white chicken. The key to keeping this idea a low fat one is to forgo any heavy pasta sauces, but be generous with the veggies.

Overall, remember that a normal, healthy serving of chicken is about four ounces and contains around 5.1 grams of fat.  Keep this calculation in mind while concocting any low fat recipe, and you should be able to stay within your caloric and fat limits.
