5 On the Go Gluten Free Snacks

Gluten free snacks are available in every grocery store. Some stores even have one or more shelves displaying just gluten free products. These snacks are becoming popular because some people cannot eat food products with gluten ingredients. Having Celiac disease or wheat allergies are some of the conditions that make people sensitive to gluten.

Natural and Manufactured Gluten Free Foods

There are foods that are gluten free naturally, such as fresh fruits and vegetables. They are healthy foods that should be eaten regularly to promote good health. There are also many gluten free foods which are designed by food producers, specifically to cater to the needs of people with wheat allergies and Celiac disease. Because of this, health and nutrition needs  are not compromised.

Gluten free snacks can be packed anytime to be eaten anywhere. For working women, children going to school, or travellers on a gluten free diet, there are many options to choose from.

1. Fruits

Fruits are nutritious, easy to carry and they do not contain gluten. Apples, bananas, guavas, grapes and oranges are some of the fruits which can be kept in plastic containers. They can be consumed anywhere. Most of them do not perish quickly, and they are very healthy for the body.

2. Nuts

Nuts such as cashews, pistachios and walnuts are nutritious, high fiber foods which can be kept at home, in the office or can be brought anywhere during traveling. Mixing these nuts is a great idea to add variety and fun to the eating process. Just pack a handful or two of these nuts into a small plastic container and save them in the backpack. 4. Cookies and Crackers

Cookies and crackers are good traveling foods. They do not perish easily, they are light, and they can be eaten anywhere. People on the go, and those who have less time to eat leisurely snacks, can usually enjoy a bite or more of gluten free cookies that are available in the market.

5. Cereals

There are many gluten free cereals available in the stores everywhere. Having them in the backpack, at home or in the office assures everyone a convenient snack to appease hunger during the middle of the day. They are also packed with carbohydrates, fibers, vitamins and minerals that are needed by the body in order to function properly between meal times.
