5 Healthy Snacks with Cottage Cheese

Cottage cheese is known for its high calcium and protein content. Unlike other kinds of cheese, cottage cheese has not been pressed. Therefore, much of the whey contained by the milk is retained in the cheese. This cheese is also low in fat, which makes it ideal as a diet food. Here are some some healthy snacks that you can make with cottage cheese.

1. Cottage Cheese Banana Bread

Cottage cheese banana bread is one of the snack recipes that you can make using this healthy food. Start by preheating your oven to 350 degrees F. Make sure that you coat the loaf tin with a bit of oil to prevent sticking. To make the cake, mix baking powder and flour in a bowl. In another bowl, mix together cottage cheese, some castor sugar, sour cream and butter. Stir the mixture well. Mash several medium-sized bananas and add this to the cheesy mixture. Add the flour mixture. This will serve as your batter for the bread. Place it in a loaf tin and bake for about an hour. To make the icing for the bread, mix together some rind and confectioner’s sugar. Add lemon juice and stir. Top your banana bread with this icing.

2. Broccoli Bread

Broccoli Bread is another healthy snack where you can use cottage cheese as one of the main ingredients.
