Belly fat is a problem that affects many people. There are fortunately a number of different exercises that you can do to burn this fat and get yourself back down to size.
This article will take a look at two simple exercises to help reduce belly fat. After starting these exercises you should start to notice results within a few weeks. As with any other type of exercise the key is to persevere and continue pushing yourself a little bit further every day.
1. Abdominal Crunches
You may think that abdominal crunches are very difficult and uncomfortable. However, when done properly this is one of the most effective exercises that can be used to banish that unsightly belly fat. Crunches are a great exercise to do because they target the fat around your waist. Doing crunches is very simple, follow the instructions below:
- Lay down on your back on a hard surface such as the floor. Bend your knees and place your feet flat against the floor.
- Put your hands behind your head at ear level
- Slowly arch your back up so that your shoulders are away from the floor.
- Hold the position for as long as you can comfortably, preferably around 5 seconds
- Repeat the exercise several times
Abdominal crunches are very easy to do because you don’t need any specialist equipment. They can be done anywhere as long as there is space on the floor. If you do crunches every day then you will burn fat in no time and tone up your stomach muscles.
2. Torso Twist
Stand on the floor with your feet separated. Place your hands on your waist and start twisting your torso from left to right without moving your legs or knees. Once you have done a few repetitions like this you should try to twist and stretch your arms to reach the opposite foot at the same time.
When you have perfected this you can then raise your arms above your head and do the twists. This makes the exercise slightly more difficult. The torso twist will help to shed any fat around your torso.
3. Cardio Exercises
Before you can tone up your stomach you will need to burn the fat. Jogging, swimming, walking or other cardio exercises are very helpful in achieving this goal. While these exercises aren’t specifically targeting belly fat they are very easy to do and will burn fat in your whole body.
You have to start being more active to start burning belly fat. Simply parking your car farther away from the grocery store or any other destination that you have is a good way to get started. Once you have started to get rid of fat you can then concentrate on toning the muscles.
While these exercises are much easier than some other types they will still require patience and hard work. By combining all of the exercises above you will get much faster results.
